Without commenting on which company is extremely successful and which one used to be, here is a timely and interesting pairs trade in the semi space. My reading of the charts, suggests NVDA’s bounce ends today with a likely revist to it’s bounce highs either tomorrow or Wed.

One could short NVDA (either directly or using options) and go long INTC, again either with the equity and or options. I fully expect that at least for weeks and more likely months, NVDA will trade substantially lower, while INTC in the low thirties, is a long term buy, at least for a two to three year turnaround.

An additional factor, that while a longshot, is not totally unlikely, is that NVDA actually decides to BUY INTC for something like $70 per share. While against most large mergers, this administration has gone out of it’s way to support semis and particularly to subsidize building chip plants in the US.

It wouldn’t be a stretch to see them support such a deal, since NVDA and many other non fab chip companies, have most if not all of their chips manufactured in Taiwan. (This is not investment advice, just my opinion.)

Here is a possible entrepenurial idea for one of you younger Tenters. To avoid confiscation of bullion coins and or bars when traveling, here is a suggestion for someone so inclined.

If one takes more than a few silver coins(at least right now while silver is still cheap) you are likely to have any amount of gold or large amount of silver, confiscated by TSA and or customs, if going internationally.

This is also a possibility, if for any reason you are pulled over by law enforcement in a car. Civil asset seizure has become big business for local LEO’s to steal cash (bullion) from law abiding citizens who get pulled over for either legitimate and or trumped up reasons.

To greatly minimize the chances of this, if one has small jewelry chains of either gold or silver worn on their person, they are less likely to be seized. The key is to have small size chains with small removeable links, that one can use as currency to barter etc.

An entrenurial minded person could have a nice business making and selling small jewelry chains with easy to remove links of gold and or silver.(suggest say, 31 one gram links, giving you approx. 1 oz of bullion.) I can see a growing need and desire for just such a product in the years to come.

Britain aims to develop and field its first hypersonic cruise missile by 2030, The Telegraph reported on Saturday. However, the project is reportedly in its early stages, and even if London sticks to its schedule, the weapon will be deployed more than a decade after Russia’s first hypersonic missile entered service.

The British Defense Ministry aims to design and build a missile capable of reaching speeds of Mach 5 entirely domestically, and to have it enter service before the end of the decade, the newspaper reported, citing anonymous sources.

The project will be one of several funded by Prime Minister Rishi Sunak’s planned £75 billion ($95 billion) hike in military spending, which was announced earlier this week and will be implemented over the next six years, the sources said.

“Cutting-edge projects like this are only possible because of the massive new investment the government has made this week in defense innovation,” a ministry official told the newspaper, adding that “continuing this project would be impossible” if the Labour Party took power and “refused to match our investment”.

It is unclear whether the government revealed the project to The Telegraph to score political points against the Labour Party, or whether any concrete plans to develop the missile have been set in motion. According to the newspaper, the ministry has yet to decide whether it wants the missile to be launched from land, air, or sea, and sources involved in the project said that the weapon could be built from materials that do not yet exist.

The government has been soliciting bids from defense contractors since last December, according to a publicly viewable tender.

Both the UK and US are currently lagging behind Russia and China in the development of hypersonic weapons. Russia’s first hypersonic missile – the air-launched Kh-47 Kinzhal – entered service in 2017, while China’s DF-ZF was deployed two years later. Russia’s Avangard strategic range glide vehicles – which can fly at 25 times the speed of sound – have been fielded since 2019, and its Zircon anti-ship cruise missiles have been deployed since last year. Kinzhal and Zircon missiles have both been used in Ukraine, making Russia the only world power to use hypersonic missiles in combat.

Less than a month into the Ukraine conflict, US President Joe Biden admitted that Russia’s Kinzhal missiles are “almost impossible to stop.”

The US carried out its first successful hypersonic missile test in 2017, but after a series of aborted tests and scrapped projects in the years since, has yet to actually field such a weapon. After several years of delays, the US Army plans to deploy a long-range hypersonic missile known as ‘Dark Eagle’ next year.

US officials are deeply alarmed at new reports that China is greatly expanding its economic, diplomatic, and possibly even military presence in the island paradise region of the Caribbean, just off America’s doorstep.

Newsweek says it has in its possession leaked documents which show China has established a sprawling economic zone and outpost on Antigua and Barbuda, and has “secured privileges that resemble those of a small state.”  This means that from this location lying just 220 miles from the US Virgin Islands, Beijing could expand its espionage capabilities, akin to what is already happening in nearby Cuba, where China is in negotiations with the Cuban government to establish a new joint military training facility on the island.

I’ve long been a Trump supporter. I encouraged many republicans in 2016 who thought Clinton was a shoe-in. I kept telling them, Trump is a lock.

Now, though, watching what this guy is posting of late on X and Truth Social, I can no longer support this guy. He simply will not admit his responsibility for the covid disaster and will not admit that the vax was worse than a con, it was a blow against humanity at large.

If he is that much of a dolt, that much of a narcissist that he cannot and will not admit he was wrong, is wrong, and continues to attack those speaking the truth about the greatest crime against humanity in history, there is no way I can vote for him. What an utter complete dickhead.

Will I vote for Biden? Of course not. RFK Jr? Not a chance. I’ll sit this one out and the whole damn country can disappear into the great void, and I’m fine with that.

Bigger forces are at work here, and the forces of evil have the upper hand across the board. America will get, and is getting, exactly what it deserves.

I rarely see any auto collisions. I know they still occur.

Just now a mini Van and a Tesla collided when the Van shot across the busy road and the Tesla t-boned the Van. Within minutes a VFD pumper truck appeared (station only 1 km away).

Was the battery pack envelope damaged? Neither vehicle appeared operational after the crash. I guess they were being cautious. The Fire Truck arrived first. By the time I left, there was no police presence.

I wonder is this Standard Operating Protocol to have the Fire dept attend EV collisions.

From what I’ve been told in the past, the Tesla will be towed to a facility that handles them and they will park it far away from other vehicles and structures (fire risk). Good luck getting it fixed for a long time.

National debt is fast becoming the thorn in the side of the American economy that nobody wants to extract—and it will continue to cause damage, sending the U.S. into financial crisis and 10 years of stagnation. That is increasingly the opinion of a growing number of experts who are sounding the alarm over the pace at which the U.S. government is gathering debt. More important, they fear this debt will mean the country will not be able to afford necessary borrowing in the future, in addition to the funds needed to service existing debt.

Among the ranks of those in the concerned camp are Fed Chairman Jerome Powell, JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon, Bank of America CEO Brian Moynihan, BlackRock CEO Larry Fink, and Wharton vice dean Joao Gomes.

The report goes on to add that the likelihood of a financial crisis is increasing as a result of growing debt, something which would cause interest rates to spike and, if paired with higher inflation, “could erode confidence in the U.S. dollar as the dominant international reserve currency.”
